First Christmas card of the year!

Good evening all

Chilled out today after a restless day yesterday.
My darling mother bought me two big bag fulls of her old crafting stash she no longer uses.
There are so much goodies in there.

With my moms crafting stash I made my first Christmas card.

It's just a normal A4 card scored in the middle.
I used some ribbon and stuck it n the middle of the card and across like you would on a parcel.

The red matted layer is actually textured fabric, it's just gorgeous. I matted the fabric onto textured vellum .

I used my magnolia dies , damask and borders ones and wet them with clear embossing ink then used clear embossing powder with fine glitter mixed in .

The red flower were all separate petals (fabric) in a bag so I glued them together and put a handmade bow in the middle .

The rest on the card was from what I was given by my mom apart from the lace bow which was from my stash.

Hope you've all had a relaxing weekend, thanks so much for popping on by

Much love
Sharon xx

  2. Hi Sharon,
what a wonderful Christmas card and such a lovely design too.
Love the red and cream and the lovely glitz to this and that image is so lovely.
Wasn't that great of your Mum to give you her crafting goodies.
I buy my 8x8 cards from Hobbycraft and you can get them online from CraftStash at quite good prices.
They give you 20% off your first order and no postage costs if you spend over I think it's £20.
The ones I buy are Craft UK ones which have 25 in bag for about £5.95.
Sunrise Crafts is another good site for dies and they have a £20 pound buy and no postage costs, and if your like me want them yesterday if you order before 3PM you get them the next day that's if they haven't got to order them as they maybe new ones out.
    Hope that helps.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.

  6. Goodness, what a lush, rich card you've created from your new inherited stash. Love the fabric touch on the 'package', and what a good use of the pretty ribbon. The flower is so full & dimensional and adds even more elegance to this card. I really liked the vellum combined with the fabric texture and what a fabulous embellishment you've added as a wonderful topper. Thanks for your visit, so I could pop over to visit you in return, and become your newest follower. Hope you will come see me again, and perhaps become a follower. TFS
