Good evening followers and bloggers. I apologise for the late post but this project has took me the most part of the day to make.
Thank you all for your comments. It's nice to hear of you and I do value your opinions and views good or bad as its nice to have feedback on my work. I hope you are all enjoying your weekend so far. I've been blog hopping earlier and visited most if your blogs to see what you've been creating. I'm amazed on how talented abs creative you all are! Thank you once again in being so friendly and welcoming me into blog land.
The project today is called the secret box. I've always wanted to make one if these but never had the courage to do so until today. I got the tutorial to make the box and trays from this blog; Secret box tutorial . Please take a look as its very easy to make and she has done instructions with pictures too which helps.
I made the box via the tutorial and then covered it all using this gorgeous shabby chic/vintage paper from a paper pad called "Almanac Collection" which has such stunning papers in it and was bought from bunny's crafts website. I then cut some paper with my spellbinder die using the same paper pad. I had these gorgeous vintage 3D bear stickers which I used to Matt onto the die cuts and stuck these on the two outside "doors". I finished off with my ribbon flowers, gorgeous rose stems and black lace for decoration. I used some ribbon to thread through the holes of the two large die cuts which close the doors when not in use. The sentiments on top of the box have also come from the paper pad.
This great secret box could be used for many used. Even a jewellery box. Very versatile box.
If the photos are not clear or the colour is off could you pls let me know so I can then correct and update them. Thanks xx

Oh wow!!! This is fabulous Sharon! You say it is quite easy but I'm not so surre. Anyway, I shall certainly have a go when I have a bit more time because I like making boxes. I'm just so busy at the moment. I thought retirement was a time to take things easy? Christine x

ReplyDeleteMorning Sharon, Unfortunately I couldn't visit your Blog yesterday as my hubby whisked me off to St Annes on the Fylde Coast while the weather was sunny, we had a fantastic long walk from there into Lytham (took approx 1 hour), had lunch and then walked all the way back (another hour), so we burned off the lunch ha ha. Now today it is back to the dank and rain, yuck.
ReplyDeleteYour Secret Box is ABSOLUTELY STUNNING, I love everything about it, you clever lady. I will away now and look at the tutorial link you so kindly gave us.
Like Christine above, when I retired in June 2011, I thought I would have loads of time to do things, NOT SO, I seemed to have more time when I WAS working ha ha, never mind it is better that we have lots that we ENJOY doing, isn't it, let the housework wait eh ha ha !!
Lots of love from Patricia xx
Hi Patricia! Thank you so much for your kind words on my box. I'm so glad you had fun yesterday and that's the worst part is coming back to this miserable weather. I thought retirement was where you all had loads of free time but apparently not , perhaps it's because you want to fill in your time more than you did when you worked so try and fill your days. Try the tutorial , honest it's not as hard as it looks and it's an enjoyment to make. Have a great day honey . Lots of love and hugs xxx
