Hunkydory Christmas card

Good evening bloggers or morning lol. Decided to have a crafty night and make a Christmas card.

The toppers and card were from a hunkydory kit which came free with their magazine. I adore the owl in this collection. He's so cute!  I wanted to make something different with it instead of the usual normal A5 card blanks so I jazzed up the inside of the card with a pop up aperture in the centre and used a topper on a piece of ribbon to hang in the middle if the aperture.

I used two A4 patterned card from the kit. I scored one in the centre and the other one I scored in the middle and if I remember right I scored on each side two inches in from the edge and folded. I then put it through my grand calibur to create the aperture, . before I stuck the aperture card on the card blank I matted some silver mirror card onto the card blank inside so it shined through the aperture. I embossed the topper with glitter embossing powder From Debbie Moore selection and pierced a hole at the top using my poky tool and piercing a hole at the top of the aperture and then fixed the topper on the aperture card using ribbon.

On the card front I matted the large topper on some silver Mirror card and used white cosmic shimmer glue to dot around the edges.

I cut some flourishes die cuts with my GC to stick underneath the topper with just some of it showing. I then cut some flower and snowflake die cuts and used the snowflake ones to create dimension and stick a small sentiment on top which created dimension . I finished the card of with a bow and also used ribbon on the inside on both edges to wrap around so it hid the part where I stuck the aperture card inside.

I love this card. It's very Christmassy and the pop up aperture is different.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges pls:

  4. Lovely card Sharon - great paper and love the owls - they very cute. I had forgotten how nice the pop-out cards are - I haven't done one for ages. I'm afraid I do not know enough about photos to give you advice on resizing them - I just take a photo and load it on, but perhaps some of the other ladies could help you.
